Nel romanzo Fahrenheit 451, il personaggio che giustifica la distruzione dei libri è Captain Beatty, un uomo colto che ha scelto di tradire la conoscenza.
Beatty sostiene che i libri vadano bruciati per evitare infelicità , disuguaglianze e desideri pericolosi. Secondo lui:
- Le autobiografie sono atti di vanità .
- Le filosofie sono mode, come gonne lunghe o corte.
- Le novelle sono per pazzi, perché creano voglie e illusioni.
Ma questa visione è profondamente distorta.
Beatty does not protect society: he simplifies it to the point of annihilation.
His idea of happiness is an algorithmic peace, where no one thinks, no one remembers, no one dreams.
We reject this logic.
Every autobiography is testimony.
Every philosophy is a question.
Every novella is imagination.
Burning books does not eliminate pain: it eliminates consciousness.
And today, in 2025, we see algorithms that think like Beatty:
- They silence personal experiences.
- They label as propaganda what is only memory.
- They amplify hatred and censor reflection.
This card is a seal of resistance.
We are not crazy because we tell stories.
We are alive because we archive them, sign them, disseminate them.
As I have already extensively pointed out in my Atlante (Atlas), these new Google algorithms are worse than the main characters of the dystopian novel "Fahrenheit 451" from the American novelist Ray Bradbury published in 1953.

I wish also add that these "new monsters" in the Clouds of new computing after 2019 became increasingly stricter and are not able to distinguish between personal experiences vs propaganda. So the new monsters from Google and Meta but also those in X ex Twitter or Quora and Substack, are aggressively silencing common people comments about daily life experiences and instead are favouring and also triggering the scams accounts and the misinformation mechanisms. The authors of such platforms like Zuckerberg, Musk or others are not able to explain what is going on. It seems that they ignore what is going on in their companies and that these ones are already controlled by dystopian Bots whose commission is that of censorship.
There have been rumours about a certain tendency of favouring the people who censor other people and thus it seems apocalyptic and real the dimension of censorship for nothing, just for the joy of the censorship.
The only accounts in Quora, Facebook and X which can speak free about real facts of life, are indeed political bodies or some selected journals but not every of them.
Recently journalism faced an unprecedented season of horrors such as the slaughterhouse of the reporters in Gaza, killed just because they were filming the war.
Not only that but also the indulgence and preference for accounts which really promote hate speech. These are never demoted and these instead are sponsored and crawled more than the accounts of moderate people.
In this odd scenario it seems legitimate to ask to ourselves :
Is this happening because we owe to our resources distributor the maximum respect and thus we cannot criticise them?
